Protect and Serve

On Sunday or possibly it was Saturday this car was damaged in an accident

This photo was taken Thursday evening. Now just being there it was breaking 1 traffic law & 3 parking laws,

  1. The rear off side tyre is shredded and therefore defective, traffic law.
  2. It's parked on the pavement,
  3. No rear reflector
  4. That is a junction on the right of the picture (10 m rule)

Now I was going to rant about how come the police take no action ... one slip of the speedo and you get a camera fine... but they have booked the car for no tax disc at least.

The problem is that they have allowed it to stay in that position, endangering other road users for 4 whole days. If there is an accident nearby can the policed be sued for contributory negligence?

Damn it someone could easily get hurt!

What ever happened to that original first duty of the police "to protect the public"
