We went for a walk in the countryside with the aim of finding this pub after reading a review of the game dishes.
Arrived at the same time as a shooting party ... but no game on the lunch menu.
The pub itself is wonderful and a classic English Village pub. The lunch we had turned out to be delightful.
We shared one of those giant steaks .. not chateau briand but the other one.. ah well we'll have to go back again to find out what it was called.. the beef was fabulous!
The dessert menu was rather tempting, as was the cheese board .. (the biscuits were the weak point of the meal).
Nice pub, nice food, no wonder it was full on a Friday lunch time! Just as well we had booked! we suggest you do too!
