March 1st 2003White Rabbits etc .. no chance! Up with the lark, ok a very lazy lark but still early for a Saturday. John the bass man and his lady Glenda over for the afternoon. Nearly wore the printer out doing menu cards and place settings for the festival. Didn't pick up a guitar between us all day!!! Glenda's daughter, Nicola, gave birth to twins late in the evening, Glenda had 15 litters of kittens between 2pm when we heard Nic had gone into labour and 9 pm when John & Glenda went home. 2 girls so neither is called David despite it being St David's day, March 2nd 2003Built a wardrobe from the worst self assembly pack ever, too many pre-drilled holes in the panels for it to look good, but I still had to drill more!! Never mind that Bed room ( the same one I finished in January) is now totally finished. And that is my final word on the subject . March 3rd 2003Back to work My neck is still causing grief it is really painful trying to look over my shoulder, Saw an osteopath at the European school of Osteopathy in the evening, stress... try moving the car seat too it might help. Don't tell Des but this would have been my 24th wedding anniversary .... if it wasn't nearly the 19th anniversary of the decree nisi ...... March 4th 2003Finally had some time to try to catch up with this diary... what happened to Feb, no wonder I'm a little stressed still I will try to fill it in as far as possible with a little help from my friends.. March 5th 2003I had this nice message back from the email I sent out to everyone...
Dear Ted,
I hugely enjoyed your website! Gareth looks
like I remember you looked - but you don't! "I can't
believe we made it" brought Marshall Road back to life for me, and so
described what you and James did, when you were the little boy whose glasses
were always stuck together with elastoplast, no doubt damaged in a go-cart
crash. I loved the pics (especially Des's Bridge pic in Portugal) and am
so pleased you included me in the mailing. Now I know a good website I
can visit to perk me up when I feel exhausted! I look forward to fresh
totally unimportant installments.
lots of love, A
"A" (I fear that to reveal her name would be to identify her to the world) is the Jimmy the Ant's big sister, J the A and Ted grew up together back in the 60's and survived motorcycling through the 70's. It suddenly occurs to me that there are only 7 people in the world I have known longer than J the A, which means A is about number 8 in her own right, as she walked home with J the A and myself after my first day at school. Scary!!!!!! That's Jimmy the Ant as he was a year or so ago at work too!! What "A" doesn't know about is the excesses of the activities with the Sea Scouts .... no not that sort of excess!!!! But that's a long story and will be part of the site at a later date.... March 7th 2003It rained! and then it rained some more Then when I was indoors it stopped and the sun came out. I ruin all my suits that way! March 8th 2003Hooray the weekend!!!! Dinner for Vicky, Kevin, Linda, Erika, in the evening, All day preparing tho'! plus a trip to town so that Des could get her hair done. I went to try to pay some bills...... What joy. Good evening I thought.... March 9th 2003Please don't shout my head hurts, maybe doing the washing up at 3am was a silly idea...... March 10th 2003Back to work for a nice relaxing day Hummmmmmmmmmm! Second visit to the Osteopaths ... the neck is a lot better but still suffers a lot when I get tense maybe I should spend longer at work? NO!! WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! I must need a holiday if I'm beginning to think that work is relaxing! March 21st, 22nd, 23rd 2003The big event John the Bass Man's Ladies Festival. The members and guests of the Lodge took over the Walpole Bay Hotel, in Cliftonville (near Margate) for the weekend of fun, frollicks, good company, good food, great entertainment (Ted's contributions aside) and excellent hospitallity.( Pictures Here ) We managed to raise about £600 for Demelza House Children's' Hospice Thank you to all attending for being such nice people. March 24th & 25th 2003Runcorn (again) for training on a new pilot piece of software........ March 26th 2003Presented new software to one of my customers. So maybe the long drive was worthwhile! March 27th 2003Had an interesting afternoon doing a "Drive and Survive" training course. Still learning stuff even after 25 years on the road, OK 30 years! Stop making me feel old will you!!!! March 28th 2003Thank the Lord for Fridays, shame the nice weather has broken, had a few really nice days! March 29th 2003Gareth's Birthday
