White Rabbits, I remembered this month... hope it works!!
Went shopping again!!! This time with more success we found some Capri pants for Des. Turned out that the ones she was after on Friday were awful (they made her bum look big!!). We also bought Ted's Birthday present.. a chiminea for the patio. It had to be a present coz... "what do you want one of them for?" had been a standard reply to the suggestion that we ought to get one.
Just as well we did!
It's still a Great British Summer so Ted and Des are going to barbie tonight.... But I'll borrow the Gazebo off Kevin just in case......... as I put it up it spots with rain.... I'm British I can handle a bit of a shower by the time we are eating the thunder and lightning are rolling round the heavens and it is hosing down but we are all nice and warm and playing with Ted's wonderful, doesn't it give off a lot of heat, chiminea!!!!
Mind you the chiminea doesn't stop the dog barking at the storm all night long ... and it became a long night between 3 & 4 am!!!!!

Home to tidy up the debris of the barbie, dismantle the Gazebo, empty the water out of the grill, put the table and chairs back in their proper place ..... Sleep! I need more Sleep! Please let me Sleep!

Finally catch up with old school friend Ceri about the weekend and Jeff's Bi Annual UK tour. Turns out young Jeff is in Scottish Islands with a group of distant relatives......... Evolution? Devolution? I always had some concerns. Still he is due in the South over the weekend ..maybe!

A cunning plan is formulated, bugger any other plans this is wots goina appen or else....... not just once but twice in one day.
First a phone call from Head Office, your job interview is Monday at 4 pm. It can't be, I've got Theater tickets....in London at 7:30, Ok 11am then bye.........
Second Jeff & Ceri on the phone Friday evening, pub meal, hotel .....

Shooting at Heathrow, traffic on M25 & M4 goes silly, Jeff and Ceri arrive at about 8:30... lots of beer, food, chat and a good few laughs. Football stories, great gigs, brilliant evening ... one thought does any one know the whereabouts of Mick (Michael David) Gale, last seen playing guitar on Top of the Pops in about 1979? Des, Vicky & Kev met up with us for the last hour too.

Happy Birthday to me! Happy Birthday to me! Yes the old git just got older. For birthday thrills we went shopping!!!!!
Evening drinkies round the chiminea lots of new cocktails to try out with the brand new Smoothie Machine, thanks to Vicky & Kevin for really good bit of kit, shame about the old git forgetting to check the tap and stuff before putting the ingredients in...twice on one drink!!!!

Head office at 11am so as a plan it is working, Interview and off homeward, still to plan (I hope having a job is useful!) Then I noticed the new style cameras on the M6 .... overhead, blue arched pole, small yellow camera on the end? seen them yet? Well I didn't on the way up........... I hope they weren't active or I was slowed by the car in front at the critical times......
Home by 5pm picked up Des, up to the West End, Cambridge Theater to be
totally over whelmed by the energy (and of course the music) of Our
House ... a London Love Story. Brilliant, best show in long time, Mama Mia
was good but... in fact the last time I saw a show as good that was as the
Cambridge too .. (Bob Carlton's Return To The Forbidden
Planet)

On the way home from work I saw this really nice field full of poppies so I took a photo or 2....
It's the river Medway and on the extreme left is the bridge for the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, the second picture is from just over the river near Buckmore Park (the Kart Track is just out of shot to the left)

Coo another Friday 13th survived..... Lovely weather and set for the weekend too. Went to John The Bass man (Hear him singing and playing) & Glenda's place for supper, nice Chinese JTB!!

Shopping for holiday bits, I went to the nearest "Designer Outlet" Store, found nothing worth buying, so ended up in Burtons buying Speedos (baggy ones!!) and a shirt. Des went to Bluewater with Vicky didn't buy much either.
Barbeque in the evening, created "Buzzard and Bull" rather than "Surf & Turf" ... OK so it was a bit of Chicken and a bit of steak on a plate but what's so clever about a steak with a few prawns????

Gardening....car washing etc still it kept me outdoors all day and it was nice and sunny... role on next Sunday when I'll wake up in Gran Canaria, see I don't recommend holiday destinations lightly going back to Bahia Blanca!! In the meantime off to the gym for a swim poetry.

Rob Grain who is looking after the Late Paul Samson's web site and bits n pieces dropped me an email wanting some info about Paul's time with This Way Up.
I sent him back as much stuff as I could the sad thing is there was so little, no photos, one very early gig recorded Oh and I think that JTB may have 10 seconds of video of a few of us playing at John's 50th Birthday party 3 or 4 years later. That's the sad thing about live music .... unless the tape is always on you are going to miss great moments ..... like the gig at the Britannia in Margate (Aug 3rd 1994) when we cooked and the audience loved it. What a night!
If you do have any stuff photos and alike of the band can I have a copy ..... please??
And if you have memories that are important record them, they have value to other people as well so don't let them be lost.... (aimed at Brian I think or maybe just me again, perhaps Des... or did I mean YOU????
