I will try the diary the right way up this time see if it works better for reading 1st January 2003 White rabbits, White Rabbits, White Rabbits, or should it be "White Tablets" the trouble with 2002 is it kept giving me headaches fetch more Aspirin. Went to Brian & Jeanette's for lunch with Ruth, Sarah and young Grace. I managed to get some new photos of the 3 of them for this site 2nd January 2003 Back to work for Ted & Des (well almost) 3rd January 2003 I noticed today that the BBC has started to refer to this year as Twenty Oh Three rather than Two thousand and three, it's not in itself important but the change I felt was worth recording, so put the 3rd Jan 2003 in your diaries as an important date..... still it was nice to be out and about seeing a few customers after the long break 4th January 2003 Blooming heck where did this Saturday come from last I heard it was going to
be Wednesday.... maybe I do need a training course after all. It snowed overnight for the first time in ages Ok so it wasn't much but it has been at least 2 years since the last day with snow on the ground.
Nice evening around at Ted's sister in laws or was it Des's sisters place. The "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire" dvd game was a hoot, by the way the men beat the women hands down!!!! Hoorahhhh!
5th January 2003 Arrrrrgh Decorating I hate 'king decorating but I suppose it has to be done... the room has to be finished for guests in 10 days time.,,,,,, 12th January 2003 Been a very busy week avoiding the snow, Vicky was bought a sledge for Christmas when she was 7 or 8 it got used on one snowy day 2 years ago by Bronie & Josh (& me too) for the first time, this year it could have been used 3 or 4 times already... Friday was the firms Christmas do, well a regional meeting with beer and a trip to a Sausage & Mash Restaurant after wards with several beers attached, thanks to all in Room 301 for a great night!!! Saturday back to decorating. Saturday night watched "About a Boy" on video strange film the women (Des & Linda) enjoyed it, I fell asleep...... More decorating on Sunday and the wall paper is awful to hang I just hope it dries out smooth and Ted & Des went shopping for accessories to match the awful wall paper. 16th January 2003 I've finished the decorating, well I declared it finished anyway!! 18th & 19th January 2003 John the Bassman (pictured right on a visit to the DogHouse) and Glenda stayed the weekend, spent hours sorting out seating plans and menu cards for the big event in March...Saturday evening we sent out for a curry from what used to be my favorite Indian, only to be disappointed to find they hadn't given us anymore food for ordering (and paying!) for 4 meals than Des & I had when we had one for just the 2 of us. Rip off I must complain. We did finally get a guitar out on Sunday afternoon... but wine soon stopped play. 23rd January 2003 For the first time in years Ted gets a winter cold... "I'm dying!!!" he said in an exclusive interview for this site. Still haven't got round to complaining to the Indian Curry House, still haven't sorted out fancy dress for a sales conference dinner, I mean can you see me in Robin Hood Men in Tights costume... after a brief discussion with myself I decided not to do Maid Marion but to go with Friar Tuck.. The wall paper hung last week has more bubbles than an Aero Bar so that has to be sorted too with luck I might have time to go to work one day a week for the next month or so!! 31st January 2003 Well it's been a week..... one hell of a week & weird with it, Monday drove north to the conference at Sherwood Forest, On the way I was thinking about some stuff for this site, about how lucky I feel to have grown up in the late sixty's early seventies.... more soon. Tuesday drove back to do a presentation at a major London teaching Hospital then drove back ... 9 hours in the car .... Wednesday drove home again. Down loaded the emails and found " I can't believe" had turned up again a year or so after I lost an earlier copy in one of the Great Disc Disasters and it is almost exactly what I was going to write about on Monday, I will personalise it later. Thursday it snowed and Great Britain sank to it's knees (again!) Why is it that a few millimeters of frozen rain makes people act like idiots, they can't drive, the trains can't run, all the schools shut. Insanity Rules. IT'S ONLY A LITTLE FROZEN WATER!!! So Friday I stayed home, actually the car was in for a service, so I worked from home.
